Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 4th, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Freer America website, memberships, subscriptions, email communications, content, projects, and related services. By using this website, signing up for The Freer American, becoming a member, making a contribution, or otherwise interacting with Freer America, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the website, sign up, become a member, or make a payment.

1. About Freer America

Freer America develops arguments, launches projects, creates public messages, and publishes The Freer American to help restore individual freedom, free enterprise, limited government, and national strength to public life.

The content on this website is provided for informational, educational, commentary, advocacy, and civic purposes. Freer America is not a government entity and does not speak on behalf of any government agency.

2. The Freer American

The Freer American is Freer America’s free monthly briefing.

By signing up for The Freer American, you agree to receive email communications from Freer America. These may include the monthly briefing, updates about Freer America’s work, important launches, major milestones, project announcements, membership opportunities, and practical ways to help advance the mission.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by contacting us at [contact email].

The Freer American is free. Membership is not required to receive it.

3. Memberships and Contributions

Freer America may offer paid memberships, recurring contributions, one-time contributions, or other ways to financially support its work.

Memberships and contributions support Freer America’s mission, projects, messages, publishing, operations, and related activities. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, payments to Freer America are not purchases of exclusive access to The Freer American, ownership in Freer America, voting rights, control over Freer America’s decisions, or any guaranteed benefit.

Unless Freer America states otherwise in writing, memberships and contributions are not charitable donations and may not be tax-deductible as charitable contributions. You should consult your own tax advisor regarding your specific situation.

4. Recurring Membership Billing

If you choose a recurring membership or recurring contribution, you authorize Freer America and its payment processors to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis at the amount and frequency shown at checkout.

Recurring memberships continue until canceled. The billing amount, billing frequency, and renewal timing will be disclosed at checkout or in the membership signup process.

You are responsible for keeping your payment information current. If a payment fails, Freer America or its payment processor may attempt to process the payment again, notify you, suspend membership access or participation, or cancel the membership.

5. Canceling a Membership

You may cancel a recurring membership at any time.

Cancellation stops future recurring charges. It does not automatically refund payments already processed.

You may cancel through any account or subscription-management tools provided by the website, checkout system, or payment processor. You may also contact Freer America at [contact email] for help canceling.

Freer America will make reasonable efforts to process cancellation requests promptly. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancel before your next scheduled renewal date.

6. Refunds for Memberships and Contributions

Memberships and contributions support ongoing work and are generally not refundable once processed.

Freer America may issue a refund when required by law, when a charge was made in error, when there was a duplicate charge, or when Freer America determines in its discretion that a refund is appropriate.

Canceling a membership stops future charges but does not create a right to a refund for prior billing periods, partial months, unused time, or prior contributions.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at [contact email].

7. Membership Changes

Freer America may change, modify, pause, discontinue, rename, restructure, or replace membership options at any time.

Memberships may include participation opportunities, updates, materials, community involvement, recognition, or other features. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, these features are not guaranteed and may change over time.

Freer America may deny, suspend, or cancel membership participation if a member abuses the website, misuses Freer America materials, engages in fraudulent activity, violates these Terms, or acts in a way that Freer America reasonably determines is harmful to its work, reputation, operations, members, supporters, or mission.

8. Products and Future Offerings

Freer America may later offer physical products, digital materials, printed materials, event access, or other offerings.

If Freer America sells physical products, additional terms may apply, including shipping, returns, refunds, delivery timing, product availability, and order limitations. Those terms will be provided where applicable.

If a future product, event, or service has separate terms, those separate terms will control for that specific offering.

9. Use of Website and Content

You may use this website for lawful personal, informational, civic, and noncommercial purposes.

You may not use this website to commit fraud, interfere with the website’s operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or harvest data in a harmful or excessive manner, impersonate another person, violate the rights of others, or use Freer America’s content in a misleading way.

Freer America may restrict or terminate access to the website or services for conduct that violates these Terms or harms Freer America, its users, its members, or its operations.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, names, marks, logos, designs, images, graphics, layouts, slogans, articles, arguments, projects, messages, and other materials, is owned by Freer America or used with permission, unless otherwise indicated.

You may quote or share limited excerpts from Freer America content for commentary, discussion, news, education, or personal use, provided that you do not misrepresent the content or imply endorsement where none exists.

You may not copy, reproduce, sell, modify, distribute, publish, exploit, or create derivative works from Freer America content for commercial purposes without written permission from Freer America.

Freer America reserves all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

11. User Submissions

If you submit ideas, comments, messages, feedback, suggestions, testimonials, or other materials to Freer America, you grant Freer America a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, and display those submissions in connection with Freer America’s work, communications, projects, and operations.

Do not submit confidential information unless Freer America has agreed in writing to receive it confidentially.

Freer America is not required to use, respond to, compensate, return, or preserve any submission.

12. Email Communications

By signing up, becoming a member, making a contribution, or providing your email address, you agree that Freer America may send you emails related to your signup, membership, contribution, account, transaction, The Freer American, launches, milestones, project updates, and other Freer America communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Transactional, administrative, payment, membership, and account-related emails may still be sent when necessary.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

This website may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, email platforms, analytics tools, embedded content, social platforms, and external websites.

Freer America is not responsible for third-party websites, services, content, policies, practices, or failures. Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

14. No Professional Advice

Freer America content is provided for informational, commentary, advocacy, civic, and educational purposes. It is not legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for your own decisions and should consult appropriate professionals when needed.

15. Disclaimers

The website, content, emails, memberships, and related services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Freer America does not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, current, or free from viruses or harmful components. Freer America does not guarantee any specific result from reading, sharing, supporting, joining, or participating in its work.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freer America disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freer America and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, affiliates, partners, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising out of or related to your use of the website, content, emails, memberships, contributions, or related services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freer America’s total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms, the website, memberships, contributions, or related services will not exceed the amount you paid to Freer America in the three months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Freer America and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, affiliates, partners, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of the website, your violation of these Terms, your misuse of Freer America content, your submissions, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

18. Changes to These Terms

Freer America may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Your continued use of the website, continued membership, continued subscription to emails, or continued interaction with Freer America after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Termination

Freer America may suspend or terminate your access to the website, email list, membership participation, or related services if you violate these Terms, misuse Freer America materials, interfere with operations, engage in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or act in a way Freer America reasonably determines is harmful to its mission, operations, users, members, or reputation.

Termination does not limit Freer America’s other rights or remedies.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms, the website, memberships, contributions, or Freer America’s services will be handled in the state or federal courts located in [County, State], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
